Stock Profit/Loss Calculator India

Estimate profit or loss on a long or short stock trade from entry price, exit or cover price, quantity and optional total charges.

Calculate stock trade profit or loss

Charges: Enter the total brokerage, taxes, exchange fees, borrow fees or other costs you want deducted. The calculator does not maintain broker-specific or tax-specific fee schedules.

Short-position risk: A short position can lose more than the initial sale proceeds if the share price rises substantially. Return % here uses entry position value, not broker margin capital.

Long versus short profit

For a long position, profit rises when the exit price is above the entry price. For a short position, profit rises when the buy-to-cover price is below the original short-sale price.

What does net profit include?

Net profit or loss equals the calculated gross trade result minus the total charges you enter. Because broker fees and statutory charges can change, this calculator does not automatically estimate them.

Break-even price

Break-even adjusts the entry price for the charges you entered. For a long position the break-even exit price moves upward; for a short position the break-even cover price moves downward.

Educational estimate: This calculator does not model margin requirements, dividends owed on short shares, stock-borrow availability, corporate actions or personalised tax treatment.
