Net Worth Calculator
Add what you own, subtract what you owe, and get a simple snapshot of your current net worth.
Calculate your net worth
Enter the current value of your assets and the balances you still owe. Categories start at $0 so you only need to change the ones that apply to you.
Assets
Use current values rather than original purchase prices where practical.
Liabilities
Enter the balances currently owed, not the original loan amounts.
Use current approximate balances and values. A precise appraisal is not required for a useful personal net-worth snapshot.
Your results
What is net worth?
Net worth is the value of what you own minus what you owe.
A positive net worth means your total assets are greater than your total liabilities. A negative net worth means your liabilities currently exceed your assets.
What counts as an asset?
Assets may include cash, checking and savings accounts, investments, retirement accounts, real estate, vehicles, and other property that has financial value.
What counts as a liability?
Liabilities may include mortgage balances, credit card debt, student loans, auto loans, personal loans, and other amounts you currently owe.
How the calculation works
The calculator adds the values entered under assets, adds the balances entered under liabilities, and subtracts total liabilities from total assets.
Net worth = Total assets − Total liabilities
Why track net worth?
Tracking net worth over time can provide a broader view of your financial position than looking only at income, savings, or debt individually.
Important limitation
This calculator is a planning tool. Asset values can change and some assets may have selling costs, tax consequences, or other considerations that are not included here.
